we lavish in ambiguity because we’re scared of what specificity brings
We don't want to step out of unspecificity is because we’re terrified of being misinterpreted, mis-constructed, and then having their life of their words suddenly twist as soon as the words are out of their bodies.
You declare something and then a second later you realize maybe you feel differently, but the declaration is there and it stands for you. It actually replaces you. It kills you. That’s scary! To update that picture in someone else's mind takes maybe double the declaration. Maybe best to not speak at all, retain the ambiguity, be allowed to your unplacability.
